Audition Information


Boston Gay Men's Chorus will audition tenors, baritones and basses on September 12, 2010 from 1-5 pm. All interested singers are encouraged to audition; previous choral singing experience is helpful and elementary music reading skills are a plus. The audition process includes singing a familiar song, sightsinging, vocalizing, and an evaluation of basic musicianship skills. exp: 09/13/2010

Boston Saengerfest Men's Chorus - one of the few male choruses in the greater Boston area - is holding open rehearsals for tenors, baritones and basses on September 13 & 20, 2010 at 7pm at the First Parish Church (Unitarian), 349 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA. After attending one or both open rehearsals, interested singers may audition by appointment. Previous choral singing experience and an ability to read music is desired, but not required. The Braintree Choral Society’s fall/winter season opens with its first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 14th. Brookline Chorus is seeking experienced choral singers in all voice ranges who are interested in joining one of metro Boston's top ranked choral ensembles. Auditions for the 2010-2011 season will be held late August and early September. We are looking for singers with strong vocal and reading skills to participate in a four-concert season. Cantemus Chamber Chorus has openings for experienced singers in all voice parts, but especially sopranos and tenors. Auditions for our 2010-11 season will be held by evening appointment on August 31 and September 7. Beginning 9/7, rehearsals will be on Tuesdays, 7:30-10:00, at Miles River School, Route 1A, Hamilton. Auditionees should be prepared with a short unaccompanied song, hymn, or other work. There will be sight-reading and aural testing. Previous choral/vocal experience is recommended in order to audition: solid vocal quality, sight reading skills, aural memory, and rhythmic understanding are emphasized. Cantilena holds open auditions at the start of each season. Members generally have prior choral experience and either some sight-reading ability or a very good ear. If you are interested in auditioning, we ask that you come to one of the first three rehearsals in September or January, sing with us, and then stay afterward for a brief audition with our artistic director and audition committee. There is no need to reserve a spot, and no preparation is required. Chorus Pro Musica - There are openings for general membership in all voice parts for experienced choral singers. The Concord Chorus will hold open rehearsal on Monday, Sept. 13th at its new regular rehearsal space in Robb Hall at the Fenn School, 516 Monument St., Concord, MA. Convivium Musicum, Boston's acclaimed amateur Renaissance vocal ensemble, is seeking 2-3 new voices to join the group for its 23rd Season. Choral experience and good reading ability required. The Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus, conducted by Kevin Leong, comprises 180 student, faculty, staff, and community singers. Auditions for all voice parts will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010, from 1 to 5 pm and Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 6 to 10 pm on the Harvard campus in Loker Commons (basement of Sanders Theatre/Memorial Hall). The audition consists of scales, ear and pitch memory exercises, and sight-reading in order to evaluate voice, ear, and reading abilities. Auditions are on a first come, first served basis, and each takes about ten minutes. A prepared piece is not required, but prior musical experience is expected. The Oriana Consort, a 29-voice chorale (8s-8a-5t-8b) seeks 1 1st tenor, 2 second tenors, and 1 low bass.
