The A Cappella Singers begins its 45th consecutive year of entertaining audiences in the Metrowest Area. An open reading of Handel's Messiah, Parts 1 and 2, and some of 3. Admission $5.00 per person or $20 per season. Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont Street, Belmont, MA. Corner of Belmont St. and Payson Rd. On #73 Waverly bus line from Harvard Square; Payson Rd. stop. Return rides to Harvard Sq., Boston, etc. can be arranged. The evenings begin with a few minutes of vocal exercises followed by rehearsal of difficult passages and transitions in the work. After a coffee/cider break, the work is read through from beginning to end (sometimes omitting sections) as if it were a concert. At around 10PM, the evening concludes. This is a unique opportunity to experience important choral works with full orchestra under an outstanding conductor. All singers with some choir or choral experience are welcome. If you are unsure of your abilities or are unfamiliar with the work, the presence of numerous strong singers can help you stay on track.
