Acton Community Chorus is a non-auditioned chorus founded in 1984, providing singers from the MetroWest communities an opportunity to enjoy singing choral music in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Our mission is to foster, encourage and engage in community singing activities, including the production of musical programs and concerts for the public benefit and to enrich the cultural, educational and civic life for the Assabet and Nashoba Valley communities.

Our members’ musical ability ranges from no previous choral experience to substantial vocal training. Some of us are learning to read music; others are practiced sight-readers. While no specific musical abilities are necessary to join, we expect that our members be able to learn the music through the rehearsal process and with the use of rehearsal files provided by the music director outside of rehearsals. Members should be able to match pitch and blend their voices with others. We range in age from teenagers (18+) through senior citizens.  We are business people, students, educators, engineers, homemakers, and retirees. Through singing, we give of ourselves to each other as well as to our community, and enrich our own lives in doing so.  We embrace members of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientation, abilities, economic status, religion, and national origin and work to create an inclusive and welcoming environment that supports the diversity of our members.  We have two seasons, one in the fall that culminates in our January winter concert and one in the spring that starts late January/early February and culminates in our June spring concert. You can join for one season or both.
