The Braintree Choral Society was formed in 1923 when a small group of music lovers gathered at the home of Cora Gooch Brooks intent on forming a society to “train men and women in the art of choral singing; to provide an opportunity for the enjoyment and appreciation of good music; and to present concerts for the public benefit.” The meeting was a success and the Braintree Choral Society is now in its 101st season! The chorus is composedĀ of non-auditioned singersĀ from the South Shore who gather to rehearse weekly and perform 3-4 times yearly, including a holiday concert and a spring concert open to the public. We volunteer for community events as well. Repertoire includes contemporary and classical works as well as lighter music from the American songbook and beyond.
