About the Chorus
The Coolidge Corner Community Chorus is a group of about 50 singers of all ages and backgrounds. We do not require auditions and foster a cooperative spirit within the group – experienced members work openly with members without formal training. The repertoire is primarily classical but also includes less traditional works by composers such as Lauridsen and Gjeilo. We rehearse Wednesday evenings, 7:15-9:15 at the Brookline Senior Center from Sept-June. Rehearsals are available on Zoom for those who can’t join in person due to the occasional illness. Our chamber chorus, Collettivo, offers more experienced singers the opportunity to tackle a cappella works in a small, largely self-directed group.
Founded in 1997 by David Morochnick, and directed most recently by Lee Colby Wilson, the CCCC strongly believes in the power of music to help build community. We give a public concert in the spring and perform at events like Brookline’s First Light and venues such as nursing homes and senior housing throughout the year. While we request dues from members, all are welcome regardless of the ability to afford dues. Please see our website for more information.
