Golden Tones chorus is a group of about 60 retired (but young-at-heart) people who love to sing and dance. We rehearse in Framingham and present fun shows almost every week all around our MetroWest community and the Greater Boston area. We bring uplifting concerts particularly to senior citizen residences, and also perform in schools, faith communities, and at public events – about 40 concerts a year, reaching more than 2,000 people. While we’re at it, we socialize together and care for one another. Singing together creates a community, as we support one another to keep learning, and encourage each other to stay active, healthy and creative.
Our official mission statement reads: “The mission of Golden Tones chorus is to practice and provide enriching entertainment for senior citizen facilities, schools, faith communities and public events. Members are people of retirement age who sing and dance to lift spirits, have fun, and promote health and social engagement to benefit our audiences and ourselves.”
