About the Chorus

Our mission is to perform Classical works, African-American Spirituals, and folk songs that reflect our mission of promoting a dialogue of cultures and peace, as a necessary alternative to the current cultural paradigm of permanant war and violence.  The Schiller chorus performs and rehearses at the proper Verdi tuning of C=256 hz.

The Schiller Institute Chorus was established in 2016 as an outgrowth of a major performance of Mozart’s Requiem, organized by the Schiller Institute in January of 2014 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the assasination of John F. Kennedy.  The concert, held at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross (Boston, MA), spurred an excitement throughout the city, about the mission of the Schiller Institute, to promote peace through culture.
