The Sly Voxes offers a high quality choral experience to its 14-16 members and the audiences that have loyally followed them. Members reflected a range of ages, professions, and life situations. They all have had memorable, formative collegiate choral experiences – in premier choruses or a cappella groups – and reflect their training and commitment in the famously blended, vibrant sound they create. Repertoire ranges from sacred motets and masses to foreign and American folksongs to spirituals and pop favorites. The group draws on the rich canon of male choral compositions and arrangement for its largely a cappella repertoire.
The Sly Voxes typically rehearse Wednesday evenings, 8-10, in West Roxbury. The group performs two formal concerts each year – at holiday time and in may, as well as a few informal performances.
Kerry Brennan is the founder and director of the group. The Sly Voxes have honored their commitment to distinctive music making and camaraderie since 2006.
