MASTERWORKS CHORALE Announces Open Rehearsal and Auditions for All Voice Parts

Now in its 87th season, the 60-voice Masterworks Chorale is holding auditions for all voice parts. The repertoire for Music Director Kevin Leong’s tenth anniversary season includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Missa solemnis.

Auditions will be held on Sept. 12 and will be scheduled during an Open Rehearsal for prospective new members on Tuesday, September 8, 7:30–10 PM, at Beth El Temple Center (2 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478). More info re: auditions here.

Regular rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings, 7:30–10 PM at Beth El Temple Center in Belmont. There is ample free parking and direct access via bus from Harvard Square. Concerts will be performed in November (Cary Hall, Lexington), March (First Church in Cambridge, Cambridge), and May (Sanders Theatre, Cambridge).

Our audition consists of the following components: a solo of your choosing to be sung with piano accompaniment and sight reading, with consideration given to accuracy of notes, intervals, and rhythm.
