Event Information:

Pilgrim Festival Singers, an ensemble of Pilgrim Festival Chorus, a premier southeastern Massachusetts choral ensemble, invites audiences to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary through music with its summer series, “American Landscapes: 250 Years of Song,” with three concerts during July, performed at venues in Plymouth and Hingham.

The series opens with two performances at The Church of the Pilgrimage, 15 Town Square, Plymouth, on Saturday, July 11, 7:30 pm, and Sunday, July 12, 4 pm. Artistic Directors William B. Richter and Elizabeth Chapman Reilly lead the chorus in a musical journey that charts the beginnings of our nation, incorporating songs that highlight our subsequent history, including folk tunes, spirituals, patriotic anthems, and songs from Broadway. Audiences will also enjoy an on-theme sing-along.

The celebration continues Saturday, July 18, 7 pm with “Evenings Under the Stars: American Landscapes: 250 Years of Song,” at South Shore Conservatory’s Carr Amphitheater. This program also honors America’s musical heritage and includes a special tribute to veterans.

Pilgrim Festival Chorus (PFC) is an 80+ member community choral ensemble comprised of experienced vocalists from more than 20 South Shore communities. For 26 years, the chorus has delighted audiences with choral excellence and a wide range of programming.

PFC is pleased to participate in the Card to Culture Program, a collaboration between Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming. This program is supported in part by a grant from Plymouth Cultural Council, a local agency supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Tickets for the Hingham performance are $50 for pavilion seating, $25 for lawn seating. Children age nine and under attend for free. Tickets are available at give.sscmusic.org/eus-american-landscapes.
